CHIMERA Union - CHIMERA A-SIDE BMX FLATLAND BATTLE 2024 Concept Movie

Summary

We produced the promotional concept movie for “CHIMERA A-SIDE BMX FLATLAND BATTLE Nagoya Castle Edition,” a BMX flatland competition that gathers top domestic riders, organized by the general incorporated association CHIMERA Union.

The event was held on November 9–10, 2024 at the Ninomaru Plaza of Nagoya Castle, with about 80 riders competing and more than 5,700 visitors over the two days. In keeping with the historic castle setting, we aimed for an expression that fuses BMX performance with traditional Japanese culture.

The video adopts a concept that casts a BMX battle as a samurai duel, using a Japanese-style look based on sumi-e ink painting to emphasize the beauty and power of the riders’ tricks. We also incorporated “oto-hame” direction, which syncs movement to the music, to express speed through both sight and sound.

The concept movie was also introduced in CHIMERA Union’s official PR TIMES press release (distributed on October 31, 2024), and is published on YouTube.
