Summary
We produced the music video for the original song “Kazeyukari,” sung by Wakamurasaki Mai and Kokufu Yamato of “Echizen Chronicle,” the city-recognized VTuber unit run by Echizen City, Fukui Prefecture, and Activ8 Inc.
“Kazeyukari” is an original song whose release was announced by Activ8 Inc. on January 31, 2024, with lyrics and music by VOCALOID producer Shota Horie (kemu). Echizen Chronicle is a VTuber unit officially recognized by Echizen City, whose catchphrase is “Next time, too, we'll be your favorites for 1,000 years.”
To match the song's world, themed on the wind (the feeling of someone coming to see you), the video places the characters in deliberate black-and-white monotone against photographs of Fukui Prefecture and Echizen City. With a composition and video structure from the viewpoint of welcoming someone who has come home, it expresses both the loneliness and the warmth that accompany human connection. Movie was by Nebiru, Illustration by Hato, and direction by miiik.
